Nicos Sifakis Seminar

On Saturday, 22 February 2014, at the hospitable premises of Peiramatiko primary school in Serres, the English Teachers’ Union held a seminar with Dr Nicos Sifakis, associate professor in the School of Humanities of the Hellenic Open University.

In the first presentation Dr Sifakis discussed globalization and the role of the English language as a medium of global communication, a Lingua Franca, as well the teaching implications of this approach.

In the second part of the seminar he focused on how learning and teaching can be differentiated with respect to key human needs and 21st century skills, the role of the teachers and how to manage groups of learners.
